How do you create a new golf blog? Take some old words that have been around forever and arrange them in a new way. That’s it. How do you create a new song? Take the same 8 notes that have been around forever and arrange them in a new way. The process is very simple to understand. What takes skill is learning how to arrange the raw material.

The necessary raw material to build an airplane existed 1,000 years ago. The problem is nobody back then had figured out the arrangement. It’s always a learning process when discovering new and better ways to work with what we’ve been given.

Now let’s apply this concept to our golf games.

If you are like me, you would like to shoot new scores on the golf course. And by “new” I mean lower. Here is what we must learn to do. Take inventory of our own raw material and then get skilled in finding new ways to make it all work together.

Tiger has been the #1 player in the world for a while now because he has been the best at using what he’s been given. You and I can do the same! Learn to maximize your thoughts throughout the round. Practice until your hands develop better feel around the greens. Get in better shape so you have energy for all 18 holes. Intentionally manage the raw material you’ve been given to maximize performance.

Pros on tour are always looking for new and better ways to maximize what they’ve been given. They can’t switch brains and they can’t switch bodies. All they can do is work with what they’ve been given to create better scores. And we are no different.
