Improve My Golf Game | With Fly Fishing?
Improve my Golf Game with Fly Fighing
Thought I’d show a couple pics of our recent fly fishing trip. We left Denver that morning and it was 17 degrees. We pulled into Glenwood Springs and it was 60 degrees. Awesome!
Here was the 3rd fish of the day. This was the biggest I’d ever caught until later on that evening. This one was just under 3 pounds.

Check the hat!
Read on for another pic and some thoughts on how to improve my golf game on the river.
We were about to pack up and leave when my buddy said, “Let’s throw a line in real quick.” Good call. We hauled in 4 more under the stars with a flashlight. I can’t even explain how trout can see a #22 fly with zero light. Amazing.

3.25 lb Rainbow
This guy ran real hard on me 6 times. It’s so cool to hear the drag go crazy. And the best part is this is the 1st fish I’ve caught on a fly I tied!
Anyway, now for some fishing wisdom that applies to golf.
- Knowledge is key. If you don’t know what to throw in, you get no fish. If you don’t know what shot to hit, you don’t have a good change of succes.
- Practice, Practice, Practice. It’s not as easy as it looks to get a natural drift through the different currents in a river.
- Enjoy the journey. A 3 pound fish to me is a best ever. That same fish to other anglers is a minow. Shooting 80 for some is a best round ever and not for others. Stay the course.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the fish. Iv’e found many different ways to improve my golf game both on and off the course. I recommend you do the same.
